Philadelphia, PA 19102
Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served |
Proceeds from this event will support the
work of the Elwyn Fragile X Center, a multidisciplinary resource for people with fragile X
syndrome and the families who love them. Fragile X syndrome is the most common inherited cause of intellectual disabilities, with effects ranging from mild learning and behavioral impairments to more severe disabilities and autism. Each month, the Elwyn Fragile X Center receives dozens of inquiries from families and professionals seeking information, services, suggestions, and support. Often, the call is from a parent who has just learned of the fragile X diagnosis in her child. Other times, the inquiry is from a teacher or therapist looking for syndrome-specific suggestions on how to address behavioral challenges in the classroom. Whatever the need, Elwyn is there to guide, support, encourage, and empower.
